No you have to pick up
They do. They also allow you to bring your own wine and don't charge a corking fee.
My wife and I have been ordering food from Saber's for a couple years now as we live in the west end of Kingston. Both the food and the staff here are superb! We have never had a bad dish or bad service at any point. It is our go to place for Indian food.
We ordered the dinner for 2. We were 3 of us. More then enough food, even brought some home. The food was excellent. The waiters have so much fun. Very personable. The cook even comes out to make sure your satisfied. We recommend Sabers 100%.OUTSTANDING!! Once again I am sitting in sabres, taking in every authentic, incredibly fresh and appealing flavours of each dish served.
Great food, awesome/ entertaining service- would recommend for sure
Absolutely will eat here again. Partner and I felt extremely welcome and service was fast!Just a warning for anyone who thinks they like spicy food, the vindaloo dishes spicier than you think!
Located in a strip mall but don't let that dissuade you. The food is delicious. The owner is a trained chef from Bangladesh and is very personable. Worth a visit.
By far one of the best restaurants I have EVER been to. I was so impressed with the service, the food and the atmosphere. I was actually so impressed that I went two days in a row! The food is so fresh and flavourful, authentic and delicious. The service is friendly, fast and personal. Both times I was there the chef came out and visited the table, mingled and was so friendly. I would also say that those that have dietary restrictions can enjoy a meal in this place. Please so to this place, it is so amazing!
Food is great! Staff are friendly. It's always busy. The sign of a good restaurant.
Service level depends upon whom you deal with. There is one staff who is not customer service oriented and you may face worst level service. Where as rest of staff are good. Owner gets his time out to meet customers etc.
Yummy food - authentic food and service.
Pretty flavourful food, and decent portions too, the mango lassi was really refreshing, and the naan was nice and buttered with ghee which complemented both, the chicken vindaloo (really spicy) and the chicken tikka masala. And for dessert I ordered the mango kulfi, which was pretty flavourful although it did have an after taste of some sort of essence.
I have enjoyed Indian food in lots of cities and a few countries. I would say this restaurant is authentic. The owner comes to check in with you, happy to chat and answer questions. I had a jalfrezi, one of the tastiest I have ever had, great spice level. My friend braved a madras and it was very very spicy. Onion Baji was fab! Pilau rice delicious. This will be my new go to when I visit Kingston, sorry Curry Village!
Food is always fresh and it's a good portion size. Lots of great options from popular dishes like butter chicken to more traditional items like chicken jalfrezi. A good range of mild to quite spicy. They have sides to accompany your meals such as rice and naan. My favourites include butter chicken and chicken biryani (a rice dish). I find the food to be quite authentic and well done. The prices are fair and what you'd expect from an Indian restaurant. Overall, a great place for some ethnic cuisine.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant! Been there twice, tried many dishes and all were excellent. The staff is great, service is too! Good prices and fresh tasty food right up to closing time!
Good North Indian food.. Ambience is not bad.. Plenty of parking space... Service was okay but nothing exceptional.... Selection of food is nominal....Only one type of Indian roti which is the Nan... Lighting can be a bit better,.,
Great friendly service, their saag paneer is amazing.
Absolutely delicious Indian Food! We ordered take out and the person on the phone addressed very well a gluten allergy. All food was very flavourful and the meat was very tender. The portions are well sized. Rice has to be ordered in addition to the mains. Will definitely be back for other dishes.
We decided to try Saber's based on reading prior reviews. We are so glad we did! The Butter Chicken had a unique taste/sweetness that was new to us, and we loved it. However my fav was the Chicken Saag. It reminded me of the authentic Saag I loved decades ago. Only disappointment was the Chicken Biriyani. It was delicious, however my spouse had asked for spicy and it was extremely mild. We had ordered take-out, so couldn't request additional heat. We will most definitely be back.
Excellent food. Very good service.
Food is amazing, great portions and amazing staff that cater to you, pouring your water before it gets empty and never rushing you out the door! It’s a must try if you are in Kingston!
If you are in the city and you crave indian food, Saber’s is the best option and you will never be disappointed. We were on a business trip to Kingston and after we tried Saber’s food we went to his restaurant couple times during our stay.We tried multiple items from the menu from chicken to beef to fish to veggies and hats off to the mouthwatering food. And not to forget the mango lassie. It was a no brainer. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
It was our first time at Saber's, and would have to say that this restaurant serves the most delicious 😋 indian cuisine. The customer service is excellent, servers are very friendly and polite. Even the owner comes out check if everything is okay. It was an amazing experience at Saber’s. Will definitely come back.
Gets better every time. Great service with personable attention.
Had an amazing night at this restaurant photos are of the kitchen the food is excellent do not have enough good things to say about this place you may want to make reservations and enjoy friendly atmosphere friendly people delicious food
Best Indian food in Canada so far.
Friendly and hospitable and downtown earth. The restaurant was clean and fancy. Food was prompt and delicious. Prices were also good for the portions. Delivery of the food was fast.
Luke warm chicken dish with dry basmati rice which should have been rice pulao. uninspired with unattentive service. The server literally threw my napkin on my lap. I brought up this quality of my meal to this unfriendly server and was pretty much told off in a harsh tone of voice. Being a respected chef/cater myself, I aspire to have high expectations for where I dine and when I'm being charged $16.95 for a dish. On the subject of writing a review, this server told me he didn't care if I wrote a review or not. Well, here I am writing a review. You be the judge.
WE ARE REGULARS AT SABER’S. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE PLACE. THE FOOD AND SERVICE IS ALWAYS TOP NOTCH! THEY TEND TO GET QUITE BUSY ON THE WEEKENDS / LONG WEEKENDS. WE USUALLY CALL AHEAD OF TIME AND MAKE RESERVATIONS, FOR US, IT IS A PLEASURE EVERY TIME! THANK YOU SABER’S!- LINDA & CHRIS POTTER
Fantastic food! Delicious and high quality. Service was so fast with all food made to order. Definitely will be returning to try more menu items.
Very good place for Indian food. You can bring your own wine . Busy most of the times. Limited space
Ok so the owner of this place is named Saber, and he was one of the people serving us at the time. He kept roasting us (a bunch of university students) but it was 100% in jest (he seemed to target one person in particular, probably cause they lost a napkin), making it one of the funniest experiences ever at a restuarant.
A favourite go-to of ours for amazing Indian take-away, we have been ordering here for years. The quality of food is consistent and delicious and there are few others that make butter chicken so good! Amazing customer service, always a big smiles and courteous. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try Indian cuisine, eat in or take away - delicious!
Surprised at some of the negative reviews. Sabers has by far the best Indian food in Kingston and the customer service has always been great for us. We have tried Indian food all over Europe and the UK as well and my wife still says Sabers has the best Chicken Vindaloo ever. Keep up the good work. Peter & Connie Brown
I have a disappointing experience at this place, I reached at 8:30pm and was refused to enter as the person attending the door said they shut the kitchen half an hour early than closing time. Would have been really helpful if that is mentioned somewhere online because I drove across the city just to experience Indian cuisine at this place. The person answering the door was rude and didn't portray bare minimal respect to a customer in front of him to say the least.I had a bad experience, so I thought of writing a review to bring this to the owner's attention - but the reviews for this place already calls out so many ill-mannered experiences and now I hardly think the owner is paying any attention to any of these and is blatantly turning a blind eye to it all !! Needless to mention again, save yourself some respect and beware of visiting this place if you are looking for a courteous staff and customer experience. Zero stars on humanity aspects.
I went here for a birthday dinner with friends last week. There were six of us; we all ordered a different dish and then shared among each other. I ordered the Bombay Aloo, which was delicious and perfectly spiced. A friend ordered Saag Lamb, another ordered Vegetable Curry, another Chicken Tikka Masala, another Butter Chicken, and Pineapple Chicken. Every single dish was mouth-watering delicious.
Liked it.Food was good but was expensive compared to other Indian Restaurants in Ottawa and Montreal that I had visited
This was a great restaurant. Introduced me to good Indian food.
Our experience at this place was amazing. Service was fast and obviously food was delicious. We kept on ordering more and more naan. Naan were crispy as we asked for. Paneer jalfrezi was something that we never get to try in Brampton. My kids enjoyed the paneer and it was so soft, server said that they make their own paneer. We will definitely come back here.
I have known the staff and owner for years. Absolutely amazing food with a memorable experience. The best Indian restaurant in kingston by far
The food was very well tasting but the servers were seemed to be like they didn’t wanna serve at all. Being in the industry I though that we have to show a little bit of enthusiasm as we go serving people. But I didn’t feel that spark here. The food was great, particularly the naan was perfectly crisp and I was very happy with the taste but the service should be improved!
Incredible food, kind and helpful staff, and a beautiful atmosphere. We had a mango lassi, naan, pulao, masala lamb, and lamb madras - and all of it was impressive. Will definitely visit again!
Best restaurant for those who often travel on 401 via Kingston. Delicious food! 😋Reasonable prices! Customer service is fantastic! Thanks to the management for having us without a reservation! Will make sure that we make one, before showing up for the next time.
We got in time for lunch before a reservation was set to come, but I opted in for one of their daily pasta specials, while my friend looked to feast on the ravioli ricotta e spinaci. But to start, I indulged in their soup of day, which consisted of a light chicken broth featuring the same vegetables as the pasta: broccoli, cauliflower, with some chicken intertwined.
Best Indian restaurant in Kingston, great staff, delicious food highly recommend to any and everyone. Definitely a place to check out.
Excellent food and service. Started with mixed appetizers and that was almost enough to be a meal in it's own. Had Chicken Madras, Chicken Korma, Vegetable curry and rice and every dish was flavorful and great. Will definitely go back for sure.
Absolutely phenomenal! This was my first time having authentic Indian cuisine, and Sabers far exceeded my expectations. The food was so so delicious, the restaurant itself was beautiful and cozy and the service was spectacular. I cannot wait to return 😊
I went there 1st time and my experience was worst. Food was so oily. Taste was worst . Even it smell so bad. Will never go back again.
Price is reasonable for Kingston but high in the grand scheme of things. Have ordered takeout twice. First time we ate here, we were really impressed (Madras, korma, saag). Saag paneer is different than most restaurants but is very good. Children enjoyed the sweet, creamy Korma. Second time, I thought the palao was dry. The serving size of the curry dishes was really inadequate, even for our family that eats less than average north Americans. It seemed as if it was 30% less than the first time. We will go again but if serving size continues to be skimpy, we will likely not go back and I will revise the rating.
With only 2 days notice Saber's hosted my birthday dinner of 18 people with fantastic food that was enjoyed by all including 2 of my guests who lived in India for several years. The service was great and the value was excellent. I also appreciated that Saber came out to check on us personally several times. All of my guests agreed that they would be enjoying Saber's hospitality again in the future.
Visited many times and always a consistently good experience. Wonderful food and service.
